Welcome! My name is Lindsay Galan-Skinner, and I am the owner/licensed massage therapist/jane-of-all-trades here at Thinking Tree Massage. Allow me to tell you a bit about who I am as your massage therapist:
Massage is my passion and my vocation; I believe in the work I do. I've been a licensed massage therapist since I graduated from the New School of Massage, Bodywork and Healing in 2011. I have personal experience with the way massage and bodywork can relieve muscular pain and discomfort, and the hundreds of people I have worked with as an LMT have told me the same thing.
What can you expect from me when you visit Thinking Tree Massage?
You will be listened to. I always ask my clients why they've come in for a massage, and then I listen to what they say. There is no "pre-fab" session at Thinking Tree Massage - I will take into account your aches and pains, and create the session that will help you.
You will be respected. Massage is for everybody, and every body. That includes people of all colors, sizes, shapes, and identities. Some of us have damaged relationships with our bodies, but know that I will always respect you and your body.
You will be helped. In a perfect world, massage could fix every ache and pain with a single touch! Since this isn't a perfect world, here is my pledge to you: I will use my knowledge of anatomy and physiology, combined with my training in bodywork techniques, to work safely and effectively to relieve immediate discomfort. I won't pretend to have an answer if I don't actually know it, and I can't promise to magically fix everything.
But I can give you a great massage that will help you feel better!
I look forward to meeting you and working with you! Iām your stereotypical queer femme married to a (wonderful!) man. When I'm not at Thinking Tree Massage, I'm usually found roaming hiking trails, lost in an audiobook with a paintbrush in hand, or snuggling my kitties (Stevie and Nyx). I used to claim to be a Slytherin until She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named showed her true colors; there is no place for hate at Thinking Tree Massage. I moved from Chicago to Milwaukee in 2014, and this city has really won me over!
